Next up is a secondary HQ unit for the bikers; a librarian.  Librarians ("libbies" to the lazy) are powerful psychic power users - similar to the Space Wolves' Rune Priest.  In classic GW form, there is no model for a librarian on a bike.  Luckily, there are a few defining characteristics that librarians share - so the goal for making an iconic looking conversion is at least pretty clear.

Any 40k player would expect to see some combination of the following:

  • psychic hood

  • fancy looking force weapon

  • robes

  • books / tomes

  • skull with down-turned horns
Basically, this guy:

Except, you know, on a motorcycle.

Well, after much fiddling guitar string, green stuff, and spare parts, this is what I came up with:

He's currently sans head, to make painting the inside of the psychic hood not insanely hard.

Here you can see the guitar strings being used as cabling leading to the hood (made out of a spare shoulder pad), along with the green stuffed robe and horned-skull.

And the force-weapon; I imagined it as some sort of long-hafted spear / pike thing.  The two halves where pinned together and the arm is magnetized at the shoulder to make posing, storing, and transporting a little easier.

As with the command squad, I'm really excited to see this guy finished - so hopefully I can make that post in a week or two.
